Domestic Violence Awareness Raising Sessions
These sessions are a proactive way to enable participants to provide help, support and reassurance to women and children affected by domestic violence. These sessions aim to made individuals more aware of the effects, severity and complexity of domestic violence on family life. A session lasts 3 hours running from 10am-1pm and includes a short tour of our refuge. We plan to hold these sessions once a month on the following dates:
- Friday 27th July 2012 from 10.00am-1.00pm
- Friday 24th August 2012 from 10.00am-1.00pm
- Friday 28th September 2012 from 10.00am-1.00pm
- Friday 26th October 2012 from 10.00am-1.00pm
- Friday 30th November 2012 from 10.00am-1.00pm
- Friday 25th January 2013 from 10.00am-1.00pm
- Friday 22nd February 2013 from 10.00-1.00pm
- Friday 26th April 2013 10.00am-1.00pm

Journey To Freedom
Everyone has the right to live their lives free from abuse and we have developed this course specifically for women who have been or are still suffering from abusive relationships.
Come together with other women
to share your thoughts and feelings
about domestic violence in a safe,
supportive environment. It will
help understanding of the effects
of an abusive relationship on both
women and children, and raise
awareness of patterns that exist
within an abusive relationship and
the knowledge to create change.
An opportunity for empowerment is provided by building self-esteem and confidence; learning how to feel safe and exploring life choices.

You Me and Mum
You and Me Mum is a 10 week programme which focuses on how domestic violence can affect you and your children. It will empower, support and develop further understanding of the role of mother in addressing the needs of children and young people who have lived with domestic violence.
Participants can:
- Self refer to the programme
- Develop effective communication skills with children and young people
- Recognise and promote healthy and non-violent relationships
- Explore key protective behaviour messages and strategies
Balancing My Life

- Healthy Lifestyles
- Women’s Health
- Exercise and Relaxation
- Complementary Therapies

Parenting
Learn about yourself and feel positive about your parenting role. The course encourages women to share experiences and helps with:
- Building confidence
- Developing your talents
- Understanding children’s behaviour
- Being a lone parent

We work in partnership with other training providers to offer help in acquiring new skills and updating existing skills in order to make the most of your potential: computers; creative writing; essential literacy; jobs search.
